What is the IgG factor?

The IgG factor is used to relate the amount of immunoglobulins in bovine colostrum to human breast milk. The factor tells how many class G immunoglobulins (Ig-G) the potential product contains compared to human colostrum. For example, an IgG factor of 40 states that bovine colostrum contains 40 times as much immunoglobulin G as the comparable amount of human colostrum.

This factor is important because 90% of the antibodies contained in colostrum belong to the IgG class.
